A short film for children about self-belief, identity and positive relationships, featuring Black role models.

This video tells the story of Malachi, a young boy learning about what being confident really means.

When his friends ask if he would like to play a video game, he embarks on a journey in a strange world and discovers he's capable of much more than he first thought. He meets local Black role models, practises his skills and teams up with his friends. 

 

Using this resource

This resource is designed for:

  • use with children aged 7 to 11
  • use with whole classes or small groups

The video could be used in RSHE lessons or in a whole-school assembly to generate discussion around self-belief and positive Black role models. it could be used during Black History Month as part of an assembly or lesson.
